Market Fish of the day

My wife and I decided to go out for lunch today, you know something special as a treat.

The menu had on it Market Fish of the day, it got my juices flowing with anticipation. I asked the waitress what was the Market fish?

Swordfish, she said, really delicious.

I didn’t mind Swordfish as I have bought it fresh from the Co-op usually about 25mm thick

Throw it in a pan with butter for a couple of minutes then make a nice creamy sauce out of the pan juices. When it is cooked correctly the fish should merely melt in your mouth.

Tasted like dried up chicken with no flavour

When my plate arrived at the table I could not even recognise that the small rectangle on my plate was even fish.

It didn't even have any smell.

We ordered a bottle of wine to have with our meal (extremely overpriced), confirmed with the waitress to be brought out with our meal, as you can see in the picture, this is how far we got before the wine arrived and that was only after asking the waitress, had she forgotten us.

To be honest, the fish I had was disgusting it was dry, tasteless and very small for the price. It appeared to me like it was something you would buy in a supermarket, in the frozen section that had gone past its use by date.

Mussels are suppose to open, if they don't you discard them

My wife had a nice pasta dish and the sauce was really nice, however, even a bad chef would know not to put a unopened mussel on a plate and serve it up.

Very disappointing to say the least.

After our meal my wife and I decided to finish our wine overlooking the water, which was a nice view. I decided to have a coffee but could I get one, no. I had to go down in an elevator to the ground floor and purchase a coffee at a cafe, then because I had a drink in my hand I could not go back up to my wife in the elevator, I had to walk up many stairs to get back to the top level. I was thinking to myself, does anyone really ever come back to this ridiculous place.

Well I know I won't be coming back and I recommend you go somewhere else to eat.

A big thumbs down for this place.
